Release date in Malaysia: 27 June 2013
Rated: 18
Genre: Action, comedy, crime
Running Time: 117 minutes
Director: Paul Feig
Writer: Katie Dippold, Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupnitsky
Cast: Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy
Synopsis: Uptight FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) and foul-mouthed Boston cop Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy) couldn't be more incompatible. But when they join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected buddies. From Paul Feig, director of “Bridesmaids.”
Verdict: Like in Identity Thief, Melissa McCarthy's standout performance isn't enough to carry the entire movie. The only scenes that managed to really crack me up are where the characters' actions get over-the-top disastrous but that's like only 2 scenes and both are in the final third of the 2-hour long film where its finally a bit funny. The only difference between the typically cliched cop comedies and The Heat is the gender of the protagonists. Other than that, you'd know the drill - two cops with complete opposite personalities who hate each other get partnered up to solve a case, then get fired from the case but went on with it anyway and at the end they catch the bad guys and become best friends. If you're not already sick of this genre and like it when two unattractive women talk dirty, go ahead and enjoy yourself with it.
Second opinion: "The jokes are a bit too much and it's draggy but overall still watchable" (girlfriend).
Sandra Bullock: I seriously wonder if she could still feel her massively botox-ed face.
Malaysian censorship: I don't remember any scenes chopped or needs to be and yet this film's rated 18 here. Must be the vulgarities.
Sequel? There's already a The Heat 2 IMDb page so I guess that they're overconfident that this one's going to be a success.
Rating: 1 / 5

The draggiest unfunny scene: It's longer than shown in the trailers but with nothing funnier to say.
