Synopsis: Retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they'll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.
Verdict: In a year with this many film sequels, a typically horribad Hollywood summer garbage will inevitably come forth... and this is it, the one we've never been waiting for! I haven't seen Grown Ups 2 but before the critics label that as the worst summer flick of the year, they've gotta watch Red 2 first. It's so predictable, convenient and pointlessly dragged, it's like as though the film's produced for product/brand placements. I did laugh a bit 'cause it's funny to see these highly respected bunch of veteran celebrities trying so hard to make this piece of crap a little less boring. The random forced jokes in the movie have got to be unscripted 'cause they can't be serious to expect adults to be amused with all that. Even the action is unimpressive and poorly edited. In one scene, it's to a point that it's as laughable as a Bollywood action movie. Before the film even got to the third act, it felt like I was in the cinema for hours. This may be one of the worst American films of the year.
Second opinion: "The jokes are okay to me; quite funny" (girlfriend).
Most unlikable character: Frank Mosses' (Bruce Willis) girlfriend Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker). She's so significantly annoying in the movie that it kinda turns the film into a cheap slapstick comedy.
Malaysian censorship: I don't think anything's cut.

Most predictable parts: Whenever Edward Bailey (Anthony Hopkins) say, "Didn't see that coming," you'd most probably did. Practically the entire film's very predictable and cliched but I have to say that Hopkin's character was the most predictable one to me. He seems like a good guy at the beginning and then it's revealed that he's pretending the whole time. Yeah... it's too obvious. It doesn't get any more cliched at the end where Frank (Bruce Willis) brings the "weapon of mass destruction", that's about to explode, to Edward's escape plane, gets forced out at gun point and then it's revealed that the bomb's actually already planted on the plane. What type of audience did the director think he could fool with this overused trick?
Why in action movies like this... the people just never aim downwards when they're blasting their machine guns at the good guys that are hiding behind something? Isn't it obvious that they're squatting or lying down to reduce the chances of getting hit by bullet shooting through the walls, vehicles, tables or whatnot? Not to mention these people are CIA and professional hit men. Don't CIA know how former CIA's work? #facepalm
