Synopsis: THE INTERNSHIP stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as salesmen whose careers have been torpedoed by the digital world. Trying to prove they are not obsolete, they defy the odds by talking their way into a coveted internship at Google, along with a battalion of brilliant college students. But, gaining entrance to this utopia is only half the battle. Now they must compete with a group of the nation’s most elite, tech-savvy geniuses to prove that necessity really is the mother of re-invention.
Verdict: Light-hearted, great quick-talking chemistry between Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, suitable for all ages, straightforward, positive and may be somewhat encouraging for the older audience who thinks that there's no future for dinosaurs, but the problem about the film is that it fails as a comedy. It's just not very funny, especially when its best jokes were already shown in trailers. Its humour is too light, too inoffensive, predictable and in some scenes, pointlessly draggy. The movie feels like a 2-hour brand placement or PR commercial for Google, and it's not like we don't already know how awesome it is to work at Google. And we know that through this video-sharing website... what's it called again? Ah, right, YouTube. So with all that being said, The Internship is basically just like a cliche-filled sex-less teen flick at a fun college campus-like workplace featuring two losers who set out to prove themselves worthy.
Girlfriend's opinion: "Quite interesting to me; it has my kind of jokes."
Malaysian censorship: Can't really recall any scenes cut. There's really nothing to cut anyway. [UPDATE:] Apparently they censored a bit in the night club scene for general screenings.

What The Internship tells you about Google: All foods & drinks there are free (again, like we don't already know), internship there is more like a fun teenage team-building camp that allows candidates to fool around (with their employees too), you don't get paid during the internship process but there actually isn't any real work at all, you don't learn anything from the process, Google is like an autocratic company ('cause one person alone gets to decide who to hire), and the whole internship process can be either rigged, one-sided or just totally unfair (the winning team only won one task whereas the main rival won all the rest; no mention about the other teams and Google only chose to employ the winning team regardless of how useless some of its members are and how more qualified other teams' members may be; also, the winning team has a team manager who's already a Google employee).
