Just a quick recap 'cause there isn't much I feel like talking about. It was one of the less exciting UFC cards. Interim Bantamweight Championship main event was removed from the card, leaving the night without any title or a 5-round bout. Even the intended co-main event was pulled out. Good guy Sonnen wanted to replace Rogerio Nogueira but couldn't apparently due to visa issues with Canada. That would've been something at least.
Rashad Evans got a split decision win against Dan Henderson which most keyboard warriors disagreed with. I dunno if he deserved it but I thought Evans looked more versatile, even rocked Henderson in the third round with a right hook but backed off instead of trying to finish the fight. Evans may face Jon Jones next for the UFC Light Heavyweight belt.
"The Big Country" Roy Nelson took the fight against Stipe Miocic with just 6 weeks notice and that was likely the reason why he looked totally unprepared for the challenge. Miocic dominated all three rounds and if it wasn't for Nelson's ridiculous chin, he would've gotten a knockout win in every round, I believe. Pity 'cause Nelson was on the way up to a title shot. Perhaps it's time for him to mix his style a bit instead of just relying on his one-punch KO power. It's frustrating to see a BJJ black belt to not utilise his skills when he's obviously losing on his feet.
Coincidentally, there's also a Sexton vs. Davis bout on this same very day as the MIMMA Grand Finals, only that it was a women's bantamweight bout. Alexis Davis won by unanimous decision. Rosi Sexton did well but her opponent had closer chances to finishing the fight.
