Synopsis: Based on the novel by Max Brooks, the story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
Verdict: An enjoyable and considerably fresh apocalyptic zombie film. World War Z may be completely unfaithful to the original novel (which totally defeats the purpose of its epic title), it may have average to bad acting (which leads to poor emotional engagement), a predictable ending and (definitely) overused Muse's "The 2nd Law: Isolated System" track, but the film does deliver the most important thing for a zombie movie - thrilling fun. The zombies here are all quicker, agile, more aggressive and their numbers are more than any other previous zombie films. And in every scene with undeads, it has a different challenge for the protagonist to overcome, very much like a video game.
Second opinion: "Action-packed, entertaining" (girlfriend).
Moral of the story: Stop going to the gym. Start eating garbage and get fat so that if you become a zombie, you'd be too slow to kill anyone and continue the spread.
Malaysian censorship: Doesn't seem that anything's censored.
To watch in 3D? Not sure about IMAX cinemas but don't if you plan to watch it in normal 3D. As usual, I hated the glasses (uncomfortable, dirty, old, scratched up and have space for reflection) and the almost non-existent 3D effects.

Expressionless characters: Saw police get ran over by a truck - the characters don't scream or even seem that shocked at all. Spanish (I think) parents got killed - the son survived but doesn't seem sad at all. I dunno whether it's poor acting or just lazy directing.
Most unpredictable: The genius that's supposed to find the root of cause accidentally slips and shot himself dead. Hilarious. But then again, if he doesn't die, there's no chance for our protagonist (Brad Pitt) to "Rambo" solo one-man show and save mankind.
The predictable and flawed ending / climax: Of course, our hero (Brad Pitt) has an idea that could save humans from extinction - zombies cannot see or are naturally not attracted to humans who are ill or dying of disease. But of course, he has to first test it to confirm it. And of course, the virus and shit he needs are in the other building that's filled with zombies. He goes get them the hard way instead of the easy way (the zombies are very alert to sound so they could've easily made a distraction by making a phone call or something). Predictably, he gets trapped in a room with a zombie outside and has no choice but to test it on himself. It works, he's invisible to the zombies but supposedly he has no idea what he injected himself with. It could've been a fatal and contagious disease and yet the other characters take no precautions and just welcome him back to them with open arms. The rest of the world uses this as a camouflage to escape from and battle against zombies.
Zombies in this movie are adrenalin junkies... they jump off everything.
